After an incredible year touring the UK and performing live with the likes of The Corrs and Jools Holland, soulful groove and funk band Ten Millennia have released their first album.
Produced by Andy Wright – notable for his Grammy award winning work with Jeff Beck as well as such luminaries as Simply Red, Annie Lennox, Luciano Pavarotti plus a score of pop successes – the album is the culmination of an exciting and successful year for the Yorkshire-based band.
Ten Millennia came into being after founding member Derek’s tried-and-tested method of sticking an ad in a music shop window drew together a bunch of musicians sharing an impressive set of musical credentials, each having performed with some of the world’s top rock, pop and jazz artists.
The album features a number of original songs penned by the band’s keyboard player, Wayne Pollock, and vocalist Rosie, including their debut single ‘Turn Me On’
Yorkshire is very much part of the Ten Millennia’s DNA, with the band members all sharing a Yorkshire heritage, and the region’s numerous ancient settlements – some of which have been in existence since 8000 bc – giving the band its name. 2017 is the year that will see them using their northern nouse to take their musical mastery to the wider world.
As vocalist Rosie says, ‘Last year was an amazing time for the band. We played some excellent gigs and created a beautiful new record. And if this album gives as much pleasure to the people listening to it as we had in making it, then we’ll have even more to celebrate.’
